Cookie Notice
Last updated: [date]
Draft — to be reviewed by a UAE legal adviser before launch.
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Similar tools, like localStorage, let a site remember things on your device. This notice explains what we use and why.
The short version
- We set no tracking cookies unless you accept them in our cookie banner.
- Your cart and your cookie choice are saved in your browser, not on our servers.
- If you log in, we set an essential cookie that keeps you signed in. It’s removed when you log out.
- Our analytics are cookieless and only show totals, not individuals.
What we use
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cart (localStorage) | Remembers what is in your cart between visits. | Until you clear it or check out | Essential |
| Cookie choice (localStorage) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies, so we don’t ask every time. | Until you clear it or change your choice | Essential |
| sd_session (cookie) | Keeps you logged in to your account. Scripts on the page can’t read it. | 30 days, or until you log out | Essential |
| sd_member (cookie) | Tells the site you’re logged in, so it can show your wishlist. Holds no personal data. | 30 days, or until you log out | Essential |
| NEXT_LOCALE (cookie) | Remembers whether you chose English or Arabic. | 1 year | Essential |
| Vercel Analytics | Counts visits and page views in aggregate. Sets no cookies and does not identify you. | No cookie stored | Analytics (cookieless) |
| Meta Pixel (e.g. _fbp) | Measures how our Instagram and Facebook ads perform. | [90 days] | Marketing — only after you accept |
Payments happen on Stripe Checkout. Stripe may set its own essential cookies there to process your payment securely and prevent fraud.
Essential storage
The cart and cookie-choice entries are needed for the site to work as you expect. They are kept in your browser’s localStorage, are not sent to us, and are not used to track you.
Marketing cookies
The Meta Pixel loads only if you tap Accept on our cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, it does not load and no marketing cookies are set. Meta’s use of this data is covered by its own privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle it.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Use the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of any page to accept or decline again. If you withdraw consent, the Meta Pixel stops loading on your next page view.
You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Clearing site data will empty your cart and reset your cookie choice.
